RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Annual Ridgefield Giant Pumpkin Weigh Off held annually at Ballard Park attracted growers from around the state who showed off their giant gourds for a chance to win prizes and bragging rights.

Photo Credit: ContributedEveryone was trying to beat last year's winner Nicholas Huydic, a backyard grower from Fairfield, whose pumpkin weighed in at a 1,625.5 pounds.
He even topped his previous year's win, which was a light-weight at 1,290.5 pounds.
