Danbury Manufacturer Kimchuk To Expand, Hire 80 Workers

DANBURY, Conn. – Kimchuk Inc., a Danbury-based maker of electrical components for large-scale manufacturing clients, is expanding into a fourth location in the city.

Located in Commerce Park at 1 Corporate Drive, the company is expanding into a new plant in the same complex and hiring an additional 80 employees by the end of September, according to President Jim Marquis.

"We realized the need for this expansion as a result of the significant growth Kimchuk has experienced in the nuclear and military industries with both commercial power and military control systems,” Marquis said in a statement. “We have also seen growth in the safety and wireless sectors as well.”

With the expansion, the company’s workforce will swell to about 250 employees. Among Kimchuk’s clients are the U.S. military and Westinghouse. The industries the company serves includes telecom, medical and energy.
