DANBURY, Conn. -- Connecticut Department of Labor and the Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board are offering a variety of training and employment workshops in February to assist Danbury-area residents.
Events are held at the Danbury American Job Center, 171 Main St. and the Danbury Public Library, 170 Main St.
The following workshops are now being offered:
Networking Group: Learn firsthand about the benefits of networking within a local group of job seekers – and beyond. This event will expand your job search to new levels – consistent with today’s job market. Tuesday, Feb. 3 (10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) Tuesday, Feb. 17 (10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)
WIA Information Session: Participants will review the process and eligibility requirements to receive funding for training through the federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA). Tuesday, Feb. 3 (1 p.m. – 4 p.m.) Tuesday, Feb. 17 (1 p.m. – 4 p.m.)

Interviewing Techniques: In this workshop, participants will increase your understanding of the interview process and address challenging questions. February 6 (10 a.m. – 1 p.m.) LinkedIn: Participants will create a profile on a professional networking website. Learn the advantages of a digital presence in today’s job market. Attendees must have a valid email address. Thursday, Feb. 19 (10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)
Résumé Basics: Learn about important resume sections, formatting, and the pros and cons of different styles. Friday, Feb. 20 (10 a.m. – 1 p.m.)
Health and Life Science Carer Orientation: Review Health/Life Sciences programs at area Community Colleges. Thursday, Feb. 26 (1 – 2:30 p.m.)
