Danbury's Shelter Rock Winery Throws Benefit For Julia's Wings Foundation

DANBURY, Conn. -- Food, music and wine aficionados of Danbury, Conn., flocked to The Shelter Rock Winery and Membership Club on April 25 to celebrate the spring season and a worthy, local cause.

Shelter Rock Winery’s evening of culture at its location at 5 Shelter Rock Rd. was a benefit for Julia’s Wings Foundation of Danbury.

Julia Wing Foundation’s Vice President Heather Malsin and board member Katherine Gold-Guber spoke at the event regarding the foundation’s mission and efforts to promote organizations and individuals researching Aplastic Anemia through donations. The non-profit organization also provides financial relief to families of children with life-threatening hematological diseases and to medical professionals for healthcare research.

Proceeds from T-shirt and Anita Begley-designed jewelry sales were donated to the foundation.

The Shelter Rock Winery is the first of its kind in Fairfield County. The membership club is a regular gathering where members experience the entire wine-making process from grape selection to bottling and labeling.
