Doctors Express Plans Second Location In Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. – Doctors Express Urgent Care plans to open its second Danbury location this winter.

The new walk-in medical center will be located at 100 Mill Plain Road on the city's West Side.

“Our newest center is located in a highly commercial corridor which lacks medical care alternatives,” Tom Kelly, co-owner of Doctors Express Urgent Care, said in a press release.

"Our goal is to bring the nicest, most modern medical facility to the Mill Plain Road corridor.”

The new Doctors Express location will bring about 20 new jobs to Danbury. 

“Our only concern is for our patients. We strive to meet our goal of providing the highest quality, affordable care in under an hour," Kelly said.

Doors will open with a staff of physicians, physician assistants, APRNs, X-ray technicians, and medical assistants, available to treat everything from viruses and infections, cuts and fractures to ear, eye, and skin issues. The new walk-in facility will have its own on-site laboratory, pharmacy and X-ray equipment enabling doctors to diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries as well as dispense medication to patients.

Along with urgent care issues, Doctors Express Danbury also provides physicals and vaccinations for school, sports, immigration, DOT and pre-employment. It will also have an Occupational Health program for employers providing care for workers’ compensation cases and employee-related testing, such as drug screening and hearing tests.  

“Doctors Express has established itself as a reliable go-to facility able to serve the medical needs facing the residents of Danbury and other neighboring communities,” Danbury Mayor Mark D. Boughton said in a press release.
