Normann, who is currently the development director of the organization, will be responsible for the oversight of construction and ReStore operations, volunteer management and the affiliate’s fund-raising, marketing and public relations efforts, representatives said in a press release.
“We are very pleased to have Fran step into this leadership role within our affiliate,” said Wes Dupree, president of the Housatonic Habitat board of directors, which made the appointment. “Fran has extensive experience in the nonprofit sector, a strong corporate and marketing background and a keen working knowledge of the decision makers in the communities that we serve.”
Normann has more than 30 years of experience working with Fortune 100 companies as well as regional nonprofits.
“I am honored to join Housatonic Habitat for Habitat in this role and to be a part of a nonprofit that has a rich history of building homes for families," said Normann. "I know that the heart of any family is its home and the hopes it builds within their four walls. As the affiliate continues to grow, we are making important strides in providing affordable homes that put more than just a roof over a family’s head."
Housatonic Habitat for Humanity, established in Ridgefield in 1991, mobilizes local volunteers who mentor and teach under-served, low income working families and then work side by side to build affordable homes which are sold at 0 percent mortgage. Housatonic Habitat for Humanity serves Bethel, Brookfield, Bridgewater, Danbury, Gaylordsville, New Canaan, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield, Roxbury, Sherman, Washington, Weston and Wilton.
