According to The Times-News, company and state officials said the project was abandoned because of cost overruns. The projected cost shot past $100 million, far above the $60 million to 65 million number announced by company CEO Steve Angel and Gov. Dannel Malloy at a press conference in October.

But company officials told The Times-News that Praxair had no plans to leave Danbury.
