Report: Danbury Hospital Group To Cut More Than 100 Jobs

DANBURY, Conn. - State budget cuts to the Western Connecticut Health Network has resulted in the elimination of 116 positions from Danbury Hospital and New Milford Hospital. 

According to the Litchfield County Times, network president Dr. John Murphy told employees that 51 vacant positions would be eliminated and another 65 positions would be let go.

Over the next two years, the hospitals also needs to find nearly $34.4 million in savings.

The layoffs to the network come from cuts in the state reimbursements, the report said.
