And to reflect that, she recently changed the name of the shop on Catoonah Street from the Children’s Cottage to Consign Envy.
“Over the past 13 years, I have evolved into selling adult clothing but had kept the same name,” she said.
The shop sells women’s clothing from size 0 to 16, including both formal and casual wear. There are also accessories for adults such as jewelry, handbags and shoes.
The shop still sells children’s clothing and accessories, including equestrian apparel such as padlock boots, and riding pants and shirts.
Aside from changing the shop's name, Sullivan has also expanded her services to include closet organizing. “I travel around Fairfield County to people’s homes. While we are organizing their closets, I help them decide what I can take to consignment," she said.
Consign Envy is not a thrift store, she said. "Everything is handpicked and selected," Sullivan said.
