Second Chipotle Location Opens Up In Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. — Mexican food fans were so excited when Chipotle opened at the Danbury Fair Mall a few years ago that Class of 2013 at Danbury High gave the fast-food restaurant a shout-out at their graduation.

And now Danbury boasts a second location of the popular eatery where you can order design-your-own burritos, tacos and bowls.

Chipotle can be found on Mill Plain Road off Exit 2 of I-84 near the border of Ridgefield and New York State. Its neighbors include Starbucks, Trader Joe's, Staples, Annie Sez, Rite Aid and DSW Shoe Warehouse.

It recently took over the space previously occupied by another fast-food Mexican chain, Desert Moon Cafe, which still operates a location at the Danbury Fair Mall.

Chipotle Mexican Grill's mission statement calls for Food With Integrity, which highlights its efforts in using naturally grown ingredients and more naturally raised meat. Its competitors in the fast-casual Mexican market include Qdoba Mexican Grill and Moe's Southwest Grill. It has more than 2,000 locations across the world, mostly in the U.S.

The new Chipotle in Danbury is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily at 115 Mill Plain Road at the Danbury Green shopping center.
