The service is only available at the Danbury store.
The Brookfield-based Vroom will offer Hoedown Grill items such as cheeseburgers, lobster dinner, lobster roll, pizza, pulled pork sandwiches, and sushi as well as watermelon chunks, cookies and salads.
According to Jake Tavello, store director of the Danbury location and grandson of the store's founder, Stew Leonard, Sr., this kind of service dates back to the family's beginnings when the Leonards first started as milk deliverymen 100 years ago and is a new chapter in the family’s fresh food business.
Delivery fees start at $3.99 with no up-charge added to the food. The service is available within a 10-mile radius of the store, meaning all or parts of Danbury, Brookfield, New Milford, Bethel, Newtown, New Fairfield, Ridgefield, Redding and Bridgewater.
Delivery service begins at 9 a.m. and is not available for full grocery orders.
