DANBURY, Conn. – Union Savings Bank, headquartered in Danbury, announced that education will be the focus of its 2016 Foundation Grant Program.

Union Savings has 26 offices, with locations in Bethel, Brookfield, Canton, Danbury, Goshen, Kent, Litchfield, Marble Dale, Monroe, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Ridgefield, Roxbury, Southbury, Torrington and Washington Depot.

“Education is an element intertwined through many agencies in our local communities,” said Union Savings Bank President and CEO Cynthia C. Merkle. “We believe education is a powerful tool in changing the health and well-being of individuals and providing skills to build a stable life.”

Established in 1998, the USB Foundation provides grants to nonprofit organizations. Union Savings Bank supports local charitable activities, regardless of fluctuations in the local economy or bank earnings. Interested organizations can submit applications between May 1 and July 31.
