WestConn Bookstore In Danbury Under New Management

DANBURY, Conn. – When Western Connecticut State University students return to Danbury in the fall, the bookstore will look a bit different.

The bookstore is now under new management. Neebo Inc., the holding company and owner of Nebraska Book Company Inc., was selected to replace Barnes & Noble after a request for proposals involving students, faculty and administrators.

“I am excited about the opportunities Neebo will offer the Western community and our students,” said WCSU Director of Campus & Student Centers Paul M. Simon. “Neebo recognizes it operates in a competitive market, and offers new and used textbooks for sale or rental in both print and digital format, when available.

“Students will appreciate their ‘Best Price Promise’ to get the best price on their textbooks. There will be no need to search the Web; our store will have the best price.”

WCSU Vice President for Student Affairs Keith Betts agreed. “I am very pleased with the process followed by the bookstore selection committee," he said. "The rigorous interviews of the responding vendors, the consultation with other colleges and universities, and the overall due diligence undertaken by the committee members has resulted in an excellent choice for our students and university.”

Gwen Clancy, senior vice president of Neebo's college stores, said, “In today’s market, there are so many options where students can purchase their books. College bookstores need to step up with an effective strategy to win over guests with service and solutions that are in sync with students’ rising expectations.”

She added that Neebo has served students on campuses across the United States for nearly 100 years. Books may be purchased or rented at the bookstore or via the website at www.wcsubookstore.com.
