Sandra Prendergast

Community Advisor

Sandra Prendergast holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and is a longtime resident of Danbury. She is a recent graduate of the Parent Leadership Training Institute, a program established by the Connecticut Commission on Children, training parents to become advocates and leaders in their communities. Currently, she serves as a member of the design team. Prendergast has been a member of the Filipino American Association of Western Connecticut for the past sixteen years. She has been involved in publicity for Fairy Tale Theater, a summer theater for young people by young people under Musicals at Richter & the Richter Arts Association. Prendergast started her career working in public relations & marketing for a luxury group of hotels in Asia and was a contributor for a daily newspaper in Indonesia. She was employed in the risk management field for The Equitable Financial Group and was involved in health care recruitment for hospitals in New York City. She was the Administrative & Fundraising Director for Target Autism Genome, Inc. Prendergast produced an anti-bullying video for children and is passionate about social issues, education and the arts. She believes that parent leadership is crucial in raising children to become outstanding citizens in their communities, in order to inspire them to make a difference in society.
