Dancers from Infinite Motion Performing Arts Academy and other area studios are taking the Mahwah High School stage for a 9-year-old fighting cancer.

Ava Gottlieb, 9, who has Medulloblastoma, is this year's beneficiary for the annual event, hosted by the Infinite Motion Performing Arts Academy.

"Grace and Beauty: Dancers Coming Together for Ava" will also feature Paramus-based Center Stage Dance Studio, Planet Dance of West Milford and The East Coast Dance Company of Sea Girt.

Ava is an Infinite Motion student and is battling Medulloblastoma, a cancerous tumor that originates at the base of the skull and is the most common malignant brain tumor in children.

“We take great pride in being able to bring so many students together to support a worthy cause,” Infinite Motion’s Artistic Director Colleen Cross said.

“This year’s benefit is particularly dear to use because it affects one of our own students.

"She is a small child with a big passion for dance. Having this outlet is a beautiful thing in which she can participate and it is a privilege for us to be able to call her one of our students.

“Our annual benefits mean so much to us. Being able to give back and raise awareness for the chosen cause allows us to get our message out through dance. The children, parents, staff and families of the respective studios come together to truly make a difference, not to win a platinum trophy or to place first in a competition. Giving back as a team is the ultimate win.”

Tickets are $15 and are available at each of the participating dance studios or at the door. Seating will begin at 6:30 p.m. Call (201) 529-1130 or e-mail info@infinitmotion-paa.com for more information.

Instructors and dancers from each of the schools have donated their time and contributed their work for what promises to be a heartfelt, emotional evening.
