In partnership with Catholic Relief Services, Nicholas Roberts is supporting a project that will provide access to clean water for the first time for more then 7,500 people in the area. Because of the remote region and the deep water table, the project will require a new road, sanitation facilities and community organization and education programs. The total cost of the project is $200,000

Susan Loh, regional director of Sogrape Evaton, importers of Offley Porto and other Portuguese wines, will be at Nicholas Roberts Fine Wines on Friday, June 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. to mix and pour the White Port Cocktail along with a group of Portuguese wines. The White Port Cocktail is one of the new “slim” summer cocktails favored in European resort cities.

On Saturday, June 7, Alexander Weiss, director of sales from Caledonian Spirits of Vermont, will be at Nicholas Roberts Fine Wines to pour their award-winning Bar Hill Gin. The tasting will be held from 3 to 6 p.m.

There is no charge to attend the tastings. Nicholas Roberts Fine Wines is located at 1053 Boston Post Road, Darien.

For more information about the project or the tastings, contact Peter Troilo, managing director, at 203-656-9463 or visit its website.
