Check Out The Heavens At Free Planetarium Shows At Danbury's WestConn

DANBURY, Conn. — Western Connecticut State University in Danbury is offering free public sky viewings and planetarium shows at the Planetarium and Observatory on the West Side campus.

At the sky viewing on Saturday, March 28, Jupiter will be visible and the moon will be near first quarter. Jupiter will return April 11 with spring sky objects, and the first quarter moon will appear April 25. The series concludes May 9 with spring sky objects.

All sky viewings are dependent on the weather and are subject to cancellation in the event of precipitation or cloudy weather. Donations are accepted in the planetarium and the lobby's hyperbolic funnel.

Viewing schedule:

  • March 28: Planetarium Show 6:30-7:30 p.m., Sky Viewing 7:30-9:30 p.m.
  • April 11: Planetarium Show 7-8 p.m., Sky Viewing 8-10 p.m.
  • April 25: Planetarium Show 7-8 p.m., Sky Viewing 8-10 p.m.
  • May 9: Planetarium Show 7:30-8:30 p.m., Sky Viewing 8:30-10:30 p.m.
