“We're excited to bring Judy Cook, a well-known author, historian and performer to the Danbury Museum for this very personal and fascinating program,” said Brigid Guertin, executive director of the Danbury Museum & Historical Society and City Historian.

Civil War Hijinks features songs from the era as well as projected images and excerpts from Cook's book "A Quiet Corner of the War: The Civil War Letters of Gilbert and Esther Claflin, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, 1862-1863."

Cook's book is based on a packet of letters written by her great-great-grandparents during the Civil War. The letters feature visceral accounts of the conditions of the conflict as well as a look at a family separated by war.

The show starts at 2 p.m. and a Q&A session will follow the presentation. Copies of Cook's book will be available for purchase. The suggested donation for attendance is $5.
