DANBURY, Conn. – Cyber security specialist Dan Wittig will discuss the “Trials, Tribulations and Challenges of Corporate IT Security” in a lecture in Danbury.

It will be held Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Western Connecticut State University’s Campus Center Ballroom, Westside Campus, 43 Lake Ave. Ext.

Wittig, IT security and governance manager for the multinational engineered-wood manufacturer Louisiana Pacific Building Products of Nashville, Tenn., will speak as part of the Ancell Cyber Engagement (ACE) Lecture series sponsored by the WCSU Ancell School of Business.

The public is invited to the free lecture. 

Wittig will provide an overview of the corporate IT security environment and highlight significant trends and challenges in combatting cybercrime and cyberattacks. He also will discuss ways in which effective corporate IT security management can respond through a proactive strategy to anticipate and counter cyber threats.

In his present position at Louisiana Pacific, Wittig is responsible for the establishment of a global IT security program for a $2.4 billion multinational company with manufacturing operations in the U.S., Canada, Brazil and Chile. Wittig began his career with four years’ service in the U.S. Navy as an intelligence specialist. He also served for six years as a civilian IT security specialist for intelligence operations in the Department of Defense.
