Beginning at 11 a.m. at the church at Lafayette Place, the talk is part of the regular meeting of the Retired Men's Association. This will not be a discussion of gun rights or gun control, organizers say.
During the talk, Clair will discuss the range of use and art of today’s shotguns that can range in price from the hundreds to well above $250,000 for the most intricate, artistic models.
Clair, who lives in Fairfield with his wife, has a bachelor's degree from New York University and a master's in business from the University of Connecticut. He also completed Air Command, Staff College and Air War College with the Air Force where he was a C-130 navigator, retiring as a colonel.
He worked in sales with Xerox, then in insurance. His interests include amateur radio, flying, hot rods, hunting, fishing, and he is currently building two airplanes.
Clair has held a federal firearms license for more than 40 years, an NRA pistol instructor for many years, and is currently vice president of the Experimental Aircraft Association in Danbury, and treasurer of the Hahlawah Rifle and Pistol Club in New Fairfield.
