Danbury Concert Chorus, Symphony Orchestra Performs At Wcsu

DANBURY, Conn. – The Danbury Concert Chorus, conducted by Christine R. Howlett, and the Danbury Symphony Orchestra, directed by Ariel Rudiakov, will perform “Sing Gloria!” on Sunday at 3 p.m., at WCSU Westside Campus in the Visual and Performing Arts Center.

The concert, part of this year’s celebration of the Danbury Music Centre’s 80th Season Anniversary, features celebratory music such as Vivaldi’s “Gloria,” Haydn’s “Te Deum” and Beethoven’s “Choral Fantasy.”

Soloists include Sarah Brailey (soprano) and Kate Maroney (mezzo-soprano), with pianist Will Duchon. Duchon has been a friend of the Danbury Music Centre for many years and has been a broadcaster for WMNR Fine Arts Radio since 2004.

Admission to the concert is free thanks to the generous sponsorship of Toni and John Pepe, with special funding from Janice Donnelly.

Danbury Concert Chorus and Danbury Symphony Orchestra are both part of Danbury Music Centre, a classical music organization that has been a part of Main Street, Danbury since 1935.
