On Saturday, join Mayor Mark Boughton for a merry celebration on the Library Plaza as he flips the switch to turn on the holiday lights downtown. Then help him welcome Santa Claus as Beckerle Hose Company chauffeurs him down Main Street.

This free family event will feature a lighted fire truck parade from Rose Street to West Street driven by the city’s volunteer firemen, carolers from St. Joseph’s School, hot chocolate, cookies, and more.

On Sunday enjoy a free matinee screening of “It’s a Wonderful Life,” one of the most beloved holiday films of all time, to be shown at the historic Palace Theatre. All attendees will be entered to win four tickets to see Disney on Ice's "Frozen." No reservations required; seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m.

Get into the holiday spirit with these family-friendly festivities, and be sure to gaze into the brightened windows of many downtown businesses who will be participating in CityCenter’s second annual Holiday Decorating Contest.
