The popular part of the chorus’s long tradition is delivering Singing Valentines. The well-dressed barbershop quartets will ring doorbells, pop into offices and show up at restaurant tables to sing romantic classics like “Heart of My Heart” and “Let me Call you Sweetheart” for wives, husbands, sons, daughters, beaux and sweethearts from Friday, Feb. 12 to Sunday, Feb. 14.

Each recipient will also receive a rose, a Mad Hatter Chorus Valentine’s Day card and an extra bonus gift from the chorus.

Every card will contain a voucher for one free ticket to the May 2016 Golden Anniversary show (a $20-plus value). The show will feature an international championship all-female quartet in addition to the chorus and its quartets performing favorites from the repertoire during the first 50 years.

Singing Valentines cost $49, with proceeds supporting all Mad Hatter Chorus activities, including performances at nursing homes, schools, churches, sporting and civic events, as well as scholarships for music students and the chorus’s appearance at regional competitions.

The Mad Hatter Chorus, founded in 1966, is a nonprofit volunteer organization affiliated with the worldwide 30,000-member Barbershop Harmony Society.
