"This is one of our community's favorite holiday traditions," said Barbara Adams Jaeger, executive producer of Danbury Music Centre's "Nutcracker." "The production quality is incredible, and audiences young and old come back year after year.
"We are so excited to add a performance on Saturday afternoon, so that even more members of the public can share in this unforgettable experience. It's amazing how many people tell us they fell in love with dance, or with a particular instrument in the orchestra, when they saw their first Nutcracker.
"There are lots of great seats, but we definitely recommend purchasing tickets as soon as possible to make sure you can go to the performance you'd most like to attend!"
Members of the centre at the $50 level or higher can purchase tickets starting Nov. 9. To become a member, visit danburymusiccentre.org.
Performances will be held on Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m., at 1:30 and 6 p.m. Dec. 12 and 3 p.m. Dec. 13.
Danbury Music Centre's Arthur Fredric will direct the production, which features 200 dancers from the region. Maestro Ariel Rudiakov will conduct the Danbury Symphony Orchestra.
