For the first time, Danbury Music Centre will offer a fourth performance, providing the community with two matinee options -- one on a Saturday and one on a Sunday.

Performances will take place at Danbury High School on Friday-Sunday, Dec. 11, 12 and 13. Showtimes are: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11; 1:30 and 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12; and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13. Each performance lasts about two hours, including intermission.

"This is one of our community's favorite holiday traditions," said Barbara Adams Jaeger, executive producer of Danbury Music Centre's "The Nutcracker." "The production quality is incredible, and audiences young and old come back year after year. We are so excited to add a performance on Saturday afternoon, so that even more members of the public can share in this unforgettable experience."

Danbury Music Centre's "The Nutcracker," directed by Arthur Fredric, features about 200 dancers from the greater Danbury region, ages 7 to adult. Danbury Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Ariel Rudiakov, accompanies the ballet live with Tchaikovsky's original score.
