Danbury Woman Chairs Walk To End Alzheimer's In New Milford

DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury resident Patricia Gibbs will be the chairperson for the 25th annual Walk to End Alzheimer's that will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27, in New Milford.

The walk will be held from 9 a.m. to  1 p.m. at Harrybrooke Park at 64 Lanesville Road in New Milford. Guests will enjoy live music from the Blue Yodels, children’s activities, a 2-mile scenic walk and a meaningful tribute ceremony.

Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to register for free online or via phone 860-828-2828.

This year, Walk to End Alzheimer’s celebrates its 25th anniversary. The event, which was originally launched in 1989 as Memory Walk, is now held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide. In 2013, more than 42,000 teams participated in nearly 650 Walks across the country, raising more than $55 million.
