The Vatican Museums contain masterpieces of painting, sculpture and other works of art collected by the Roman Catholic Church throughout the centuries. For the first time, ultrahigh-definition cameras have been allowed inside the Vatican Museums and The Sistine Chapel to give audiences a look at their collections.

Professor Antonio Paolucci will lead audiences through the past, present and future of the museums, which house work by Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci.

The film also contains 15 minutes of behind-the-scenes footage featuring Paolucci, the film’s director, Marco Pianigiani, and the director of photography as they recall the challenges and triumphs involved in making this film.

Tickets cost $15 and may be purchased by visiting thepalacedanbury.com or by calling 203-794-9944 or by visiting the box office starting at 2 p.m. The Palace Danbury Theatre is at 165 Main St.
