Danbury's Wcsu Hosts 'The Economy And You' Symposium

DANBURY, Conn. -- The second annual "The Economy and You" symposium will take place Oct. 22 at Western Connecticut State University's Visual and Performing Arts Center.

“We are delighted to host the second 'Economy and You' symposium,” said event host, Robert Reby, CEO of Danbury-based Reby Advisors. “Our continuing goal is to create an intellectually stimulating event that will spark ideas and serve as a resource for pioneering concepts and thoughts. We want to inform the community on the critical issues that will help them not to simply survive but succeed in today’s explosive economy."

The event will begin with a welcome session at 6 p.m. followed by Reby's opening remarks and tips on how to "Win the Financial Race." Entrepreneurs will discuss how to "Invest in Yourself Intellectually, Physically and Mentally." John Manley will share his predictions on “How Will Financial Markets Function in Today’s Debt-Ridden World?" 

Following the main session will be four breakout sessions at 7 p.m.: 

  • "The Truth About Cyber Security" by Emmanuel Louis, CEO, R3Inc 
  • "Real Estate: A Street-Level View of Real Estate in 2016 and Beyond" by Steven Greenberg, VP of Naugatuck Valley Savings and Loan 
  • "Estate and Tax Planning: You’re Dead …Now What?" by Christopher Donohue, managing partner of Riefberg, Smart, and Donohue and NeJame, P.C. 
  • "Your Money: Simple Answers to Tough Questions" by Patrick Doherty, CFP and George Koeltl, CFP, financial advisers of Reby Advisors
