Danbury's Wooster School Adds Dave Guy To Jazz Series Lineup

DANBURY, Conn. -- The Wooster Jazz Series continues on Wednesday, March 11, with Dave Guy visiting Wooster School in Danbury.

The Music Department is excited to host this prominent group of musicians, and shows are open to Wooster students and alumni, their families, and the community at large. Performances will take place in the evenings in the Reception Center at 6 p.m. with Wooster musicians, followed by the artists at 7 p.m. Evening concerts are precluded by a day visit to work with our young musicians.

Tickets are $10 for students, $20 for adults. Reservations can be made by visiting this website. Seating is extremely limited, so please honor your reservation. Refreshments are available prior to each performance. The Jazz Series will continue on April 16, with The Rob Fried Trio. 

Manhattan native Dave Guy is a trumpeter for the band Dujeous. He has toured with Amy Winehouse. He is a member of Daptone Records funk bands the Dap-Kings, Sugarman 3, Menahan Street Band, and Budos Band, and is first trumpeter in Charles Tolliver's Big Band. He has also played for Mark Ronson, Nancy Sinatra, Wynton Marsalis, and Lily Allen.

Guy currently plays trumpet with house band, The Roots, on NBC’s "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."

Wooster School is an independent, co-educational college preparatory day school in Danbury.
