Events Fill Week's Calendar At Danbury's WestConn

DANBURY, Conn. -- Western Connecticut State University is offering several upcoming events for the week of April 27 through May 2.

Here are some of the scheduled events:

  • The WCSU School of Visual and Performing Arts will host an Honors Convocation at 7 p.m. on April 27 in the Veronica Hagman Concert Hall in the Visual and Performing Arts Center. The public is invited to this annual event at which award recipients are honored. For more information, call (203)-837-3222. 
  • The WCSU Ancell School of Business will host an Honors Convocation on April 27 at 8 p.m. in the Ballroom of the Campus Center. The public is invited to this annual event at which award recipients are honored. For more information, call (203)-837-8521. 
  • The "Tuesday at Noon" performance will be on April 28 with featured performer Dan Mustin. The event will be free and open to the public. For more information, call (203)-837-9700 or email diazv@wcsu.edu.
  • The WCSU Macricostas School of Arts and Sciences will host an Honors Convocation at 6 p.m. on April 28 in Ives Concert Hall in White Hall on the university’s Midtown campus. The public is invited to this annual event. For more information, call (203)-837-9401.
  • The WCSU Department of Theatre Arts presents "The Cat in the Hat" April 30 through May 3 in the MainStage Theatre of the Visual and Performing Arts Center. Performances will be at 10:30 a.m. (school matinees) on April 30 and May 1; 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on May 2; and 3 p.m. on May 3. To purchase tickets, call (203)-837-TIXX or visit www.wcsu.edu/tickets
  • The WCSU Instructional Leadership Doctoral Program will host an Instructional Leadership Conference on May 2 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Science Building on the university’s Midtown campus. The keynote speaker will be Donna Ford, Vanderbilt University professor of education and human development, who will discuss “On Being a Culturally Competent Educational Professional: Models, Strategies and Resources.” The event is free; but registration is required.
