DANBURY, Conn. -- June 8 will now be known as Sport and Wellness Day in Danbury when Mayor Mark Boughton makes the announcement on Saturday during the 2013 Health Wellness and Sport Expo .
From June 8 to 9 the expo will be free to anyone who wishes to attend and learn more about health and wellness.
There will be a special appearance by the 2012 Miss Connecticut Emily Audibert. She will debut her new dance number that she will also perform at the upcoming 2013 Miss Connecticut Pageant.
“We are excited to host the Health Wellness & Sports Expo 2013,” said Lex Kessler, owner of Sport & Wellness, where the event will be held. “This event will allow people to gather important information about their health and well-being, try some new and beneficial activities and perhaps make some significant lifestyle changes.”
Exhibits by a wide variety of wellness professionals, demos in dance, fitness, martial arts, music therapy, Stand Up Paddle Board and more plus free activities throughout the day, such as QuickStart Tennis, rock climbing, basketball, dodge ball and more
Other topics that will be covered at the expo are alternative medicine, integrated nutrition, weight management, children’s health, pet wellness, healthy homes, fitness programs, financial health, green technology, sports medicine and lifetime sports.
