Teaneck police: Man severely beaten, robbed after woman offers sex for cash

EXCLUSIVE: A 56-year-old Englewood man had his jaw broken, his arm dislocated and teeth loosened during a severe beating after he was lured behind a Teaneck apartment building by a 21-year-old woman who solicited him for sex, borough police told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning.

Latice Wilson, 21, was arrested after she locked herself out — leaving her 2-year-old boy alone in her apartment — and began ringing doorbells in the building as the victim was coming to, Detective Ed Kazmierczak said.

The man told investigators he’d arranged to meet Wilson for sex, gave her $60 and was led behind the two-story West Tryon Avenue building, off Teaneck Road, around 11:30 Wednesday night.

There, he said, he was jumped by 6-foot-2-inch assailant wearing a ski mask who punched him in the jaw and stomped on him.

The attacker took off with the remaining $150 in cash and several credit cards that the victim said he had in his wallet, Kazmierczak told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Wilson, who’d left her keys inside with her child, began furiously ringing doorbells, telling people “please let me in,” as the victim was coming to, the detective said.

Meanwhile, her child could be hear screaming in the apartment, he said.

Neighbors immediately called police, who found the bloodied victim in the parking lot. He was taken to Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck.

“He’s in surgery today,” Kazmierczak said. “He was beaten up pretty badly.

“He has a broken jaw, dislocated arm, broken loose teeth and a swollen skull,” said the Anti-Crime Unit detective, who took Wilson into custody and recovered both and the stolen cash.

After interviewing her, he said, identified the suspected assailant as her 17-year-old boyfriend.

Kazmierczak was among a group of Teaneck and Englewood officers who hit the teen’s Englewood home and arrested him at 6 a.m. yesterday. Delinquency complaints were signed against the youth, who was taken to the Bergen County Juvenile Detention Center in Teterboro.

Wilson, meanwhile, was being held on $350,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with aggravated assault, robbery, conspiracy, prostitution and using a juvenile in the commission of a crime.

Her son was in the care of a relative and state child welfare authorities were notified, Kazmierczak said.
