'Pool Of Blood' At Harrisburg Hotel After Jamaican Man Attacks Man With Rock: State Police

A 19-year-old Jamaican man beat a man with a rock until he was "gushing blood," Pennsylvania state police say.

Kemaree Reid, first threw a rock at the man during a fight over a work issue, but then grabbed a second rock and punched him "over and over and over," until he saw "a large pool of blood," Reid told state police in an interview according to court documents. 

The assault happened at La Quinta Inn and Suites located at 265 North Hershey Road, in West Hanover Township at 8:38  p.m. on Sunday, August 28, according to a release by state police. 

The injured man suffered, "suspected serious injuries" and was taken to Hershey Medical Center, as stated in the release. 

Reid has been charged with two felonies for Aggravated Assault- Attempts to Cause or Causes Bodily Injury With Deadly Weapon and Aggravated Assault- Attempts to Cause Serious Bodily Harm With Extreme Indifference, as well as two misdemeanors for Simple Assault, court records show. 

He has been held in the Dauphin County prison after being denied bail due to the "seriousness of the charges, extensive injuries to the victim, immigration detainer, flight risk," as ordered by Magisterial District Judge Dale Klein, as stated in court documents

His preliminary hearing has been scheduled for before Klein at 10 a.m. on September 29, according to his court docket.
