DANBURY, Conn. -- The Palace Theatre in Danbury will show "She's Beautiful When She's Angry" on Wednesday, Feb. 25.

The film is an arousing and award-winning documentary about a period of time that changed history forever. The film begins at 7 p.m.

The fast-moving film captures the spirit of the time - thrilling, scandalous, and often hilarious, as it resurrects the buried history of the outrageous, often brilliant women who founded the modern women’s movement from 1966 to 1971.

It takes viewers from the early days of National Organization for Women (NOW), when ladies wore hats and gloves, to the emergence of more radical factions of women’s liberation (from intellectuals such as Kate Millett to the street theatrics of  W.I.T.C.H. , aka, Women’s International Conspiracy from Hell!).

The film brings to life the stories of women who fought for their own equality, and in the process created a worldwide revolution.

“She’s Beautiful” does not romanticize the early movement, but dramatizes it in its exhilarating, quarrelsome, sometimes heart-wrenching glory. The film does not shy away from the controversies over race, sexual preference and leadership that arose in the women’s movement.

Representatives from the Women’s Center of Greater Danbury will be available for conversation after the film.

“This film reminds you of the power of people to create change. Seeing our history in She’s Beautiful is so re-invigorating not only for all women but also anyone who cares about equal rights and opportunities,'' said Melanie Danyliw, director of training at the Women’s Center.

“She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry” will be screened at The Palace Danbury on Wednesday, Feb. 25, starting at 7 p.m. Tickets $15 Adults/ $10 Students.

Tickets may be purchased online at www.thepalacedanbury.com , by telephone at 203 794-9944 between 1 and 5 p.m. daily, and at the box office starting one hour before showtime.

The Palace Theatre is located at 165 Main St. in Danbury. Visit its website for more information.
