Reunions At Wcsu This Weekend

DANBURY, Conn. – As part of the school’s Homecoming Weekend, Western Connecticut State University in Danbury is hosting a couple of alumni reunions at its Westside Campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension.

The Class of 1957, which is having its 55th reunion, will have a luncheon Saturday starting around 2 p.m. in a hospitality tent across from the football stadium. The WCSU football team is hosting Morrisville State College in a noon game, and the lunch will officially begin following its conclusion.

In addition to the Class of 1957, members of the WCSU classes of 1955 through 1962 also are invited. Tickets are $21, which will include complimentary beverages, an all-you-can-eat barbecue lunch and admission to the game.

According to organizers, nearly 30 members of those classes already have RSVP’d and more may attend.

The Class of 1962 also is having a dinner Saturday night to celebrate its 50th reunion at the WCSU Westside Classroom Building, Room 218, beginning with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. The dinner will follow at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $60.

Festivities for the 50th reunion are starting Friday with a tour of the Midtown Campus at 3 p.m. and an informal get-together at 6 p.m. at Chuck’s Steakhouse, 20 Segar St.

Besides the dinner Saturday night, the Class of 1962 also will have a reunion brunch at 11 a.m. Sunday at the nearby Ethan Allen Hotel, 21 Lake Ave. Extension. Admission is $20.
