RIDGEFIELD, Conn. - Multi-platinum award-winning guitar sensation Jonny Lang will play at the Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, June 6, at 8 p.m.
Grammy Award-winning Lang is back to share music from his latest album, "Fight For My Soul," which became the #1 Billboard Blues Album in the country when it debuted in 2013. His matured sound defies categorization by a single genre with its textured arrangements, broad worldview, gorgeous vocal melodies and expressive guitar playing -- unequivocally what Lang aimed to achieve over the three years he took to complete the album, the playhouse said in a statement.
Special guest is Matt Andersen, a powerhouse performer with a giant soul-filled voice and commanding stage presence whose debut album is "Weightless."
Now a Blues legend, Lang plays to standing-room-only audiences, the statement said. In his 10-plus years on the road, Lang has toured with the Rolling Stones, Buddy Guy, Aerosmith, B.B. King, Blues Traveler, Jeff Beck and Sting. In 1999, he was invited to play for the White House. Famed guitarist Eric Clapton invited Lang to play at the Crossroads Guitar Festival in 2004.
To add to a great night out, Tom Tom’s Restaurant and Bakery (417 Main St., Ridgefield) will pour a free glass of house wine with dinner the night of this show when tickets/stubs are presented. An AllShows.com VIP Party Pass (for $25 additional per person), which includes a pre-show cocktail party from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. with open bar, hors d’oeuvre and priority parking, is available for this show by calling the box office at 203-438-5795.
This event is part of the Xfinity Rock Series with media sponsor 107.1-FM The Peak.
