Ridgefield Playhouse Presents 'Frankenstein', 'Carmen' Live In HD

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – From London’s National Theatre on Friday, Oct. 31, at 6 p.m., The Ridgefield Playhouse presents its Live in HD series, showing “Frankenstein” starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller in alternating roles as Victor Frankenstein and his creation.

Georges Bizet’s steamy melodrama “Carmen” also returns on Monday, Nov. 3, at 5:30 p.m. Mezzo-soprano Anita Rachvelishvili will sing her signature role of the ill-fated gypsy temptress.

Aleksandrs Antonenko plays Carmen’s desperate lover, the soldier Don José, and Ildar Abdrazakov plays the role of the swaggering bullfighter, Escamillo, who comes between them.

Bernard’s, at 20 West Lane, Ridgefield, is offering a special $45 prix-fixe menu, or a free glass of wine with dinner, the night of these events when tickets are presented; reservations suggested.
