The event is scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m. at Library Plaza in downtown Danbury.
Not only will Mayor Mark Boughton light Danbury's holiday lights at 5:45 p.m., Santa Claus is expected to arrive via firetruck. No matter if you've been naughty or nice, Santa will visit with children from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Library Plaza.
Other entertainers scheduled to appear include magician Magic Marty; 5 6 7 8! Dance Arts, who will perform 'A Charlie Brown Holiday,' and the St. Joseph Church School Choir.
The annual 'Light The Lights' event kicks off Danbury's holiday schedule, culminating in the 25th annual First Night Danbury on New Year's Eve.
