Spoken Word Event At Danbury's Billy Bean's Celebrates The Super Moon

DANBURY, Conn. -- Beat for Luna, a celebration of the first super moon of 2015 featuring words from artist, writer, musician, journalist and poet Amanda Bloom will take place from 10 p.m. Saturday until 2 a.m. Sunday.

The event will be at Billy Bean's Cafe and Pub, 80 White St., Danbury. It is being presented by A Common Ground.

Bloom'a writing has been published in The Atlantic, The Rumpus, About Place Journal and Thought Catalog.

Poet Conor Andrews will be opening the event, reading his original work. The artwork of Maria Tomaselli also will be displayed.

All donations go to A Common Ground, a local community arts center that serves the Danbury area with educational and creative outlets for change and growth.

Bring your original words and read at the open mic, which starts at 8 p.m.
