United Way Hosts Forum In Danbury On Recovery, Tragedy

DANBURY, Conn. – Mental health professionals, first-responders and gun violence survivors will meet in Danbury for an open forum Wednesday night to discuss recovery and resilience after the Dec. 14 tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School. The event is sponsored by United Way of Western Connecticut and is open to the public.

The event will be held at Ives Concert Hall on Western Connecticut State University’s Midtown campus. It will feature Frank DeAngelis, principal of Columbine High School; Chaplin Greg Young, a first-responder to the Sikh Temple shooting; Mary Fetchet, founding director of VOICES of September 11; and others.

The event begins at 7 p.m. with guest speakers, followed by a question-and-answer session.
