Bethel's Bagel Crossing Vies For Win In Fairfield County DVlicious Contest

BETHEL, Conn. -- It’s impossible to live here and not have a bagel opinion. The New York area, as everyone knows, is the bagel capital of the world. And yes, it’s worth waiting in line on a Sunday morning to get one of these doughy wonders fresh out of the oven. Toasting, as a bagel purist knows, is not necessary when you buy the very best.

Bagel Crossing, 6 Library Place, Bethel, (203) 790-6656

What Makes Them Bagelicious: Location, location, location. Just steps from the Bethel Library and post office, Bagel Crossing is a convenient spot to pop in for a quick bite. Comments on Yelp repeatedly praise the cheerful staff who, some customers say, know your name after only a few visits. The fact that prices are easy on the wallet are another draw.

Crazy Flavors: Favorites seem to be the “everything” bagel with scallion-bacon cream cheese, or the pumpernickel with a big schmear of honey-walnut goodness.

Reminder: The contest ends Monday, April 25 at 5 p.m. You can vote multiple times, albeit once per day.
