Local kids ages 10 to 13 who can swing a bat or field a ball could grab a role in an upcoming major film called "Twelve" that is looking for extras.
Producers said they need about 100 youth baseball players of all skill levels, sizes, and ethnicities to take part in the movie, which will be filming in Brewster, N.Y., and other areas of Putnam County and Dutchess County between July 24 and Aug. 5.
Auditions will take place on Sunday, June 25, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Mt. Scolpino Park in Brewster. Kids should bring their bats and gloves.
The Hudson Valley Film Commission said producers are also looking for family, friends, and relatives of the players to be extras in the movie.
Most of the extras will only be needed for one day of filming. About 40 players, mostly 12 to 13 year olds, will be needed for three to four days of shooting. All roles are unpaid, but there will be the fun of being in a movie and plenty of food and drinks.
In addition to extras, the film is also looking to hire a craft services person, a script supervisor and a sound mixer. They prefer to hire locals.
