“We regret having to postpone the conference, but we are planning to hold it now in the spring,” said Chris Kukk, founder of the Center and professor of Political Science at WCSU. “We didn’t want to proceed without both our keynote speakers. The conference will be on campus next semester and we will give people plenty of time to add it to their schedules.”
The conference would have kicked off with a presentation of the award-winning film “Planetary,” followed by a question-and-answer session with the filmmakers.
The scheduled keynote speakers were Diane Ackerman, New York Times bestselling author, poet and naturalist; and Alex Sheen, founder of “because I said I would,” an international social movement and nonprofit dedicated to the “betterment of humanity through promises made and kept.”
