STAMFORD, Conn. — It wouldn’t be summer in Fairfield County without a little Shakespeare under the sun and stars.

And Curtain Call of Stamford is at the ready with its Shakespeare on the Green production of “Julius Caesar.”

The 418-year-old play runs from July 6 through July 16 and touches on political themes that are still fresh and timely today.

While Curtain Call operates a few performance spaces at Sterling Farms, Shakespeare on the Green takes place at the company’s own version of the Globe Theatre Stage built outdoors by many of the performers.

Kyle Runestad will be directing the production for the third year.

“I’m thrilled to have Kyle back with us,” said Curtain Call Executive Director Lou Ursine. "He's passionate about Shakespeare and really knows how to work with actors to get the most out of them.”

While the performances are free, Curtain Call is grateful for donations of $20 per person, $10 for senior citizens and children.
