DANBURY, Conn. The cult movie favorite of all cult movie favorites, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, is returning to The Palace Danbury theater for a one-night screening later this month.
Originally released in 1975, the film is a musical sendup of science fiction and horror movies, and was a staple of midnight screenings at the Palace in the 1980s.
The film has been screened around the world for 37 years and gained its popularity through audience participation and sing-alongs. Fans often dressed up as characters in the movie and threw certain props at the screen during key scenes.
This months showing will be at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27. Tickets are $15 for general admission, or $20 for admission and a prop pack containing items permitted to be thrown at the screen. The Palace Danbury is asking that fans not bring rice or hot dogs nor use open flames to throw during the screening.
Additionally, fans younger than 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
