NORWALK, Conn-- For those who love raw cookie dough -- but have been concerned about the health risks of eating raw eggs -- take heart: Staring Saturday, March 11, your sweet tooth can dig into Stew Leonard's edible cookie dough at its ice cream counters in Norwalk and Danbury.
The new product, which was introduced at the Yonkers, N.Y. location this week, is made with pasteurized eggs and heat-treated flour and, according to a spokeswoman, is "delicious." Not to mention safe to enjoy.
The dough, available in a cone or a cup, sells for $3.99 for a single scoop and $6.99 for a double.
Stew Leonard's is at 100 Westport Ave, Norwalk, (203) 847-7214, and at 99 Federal Road, Danbury, (203) 790-8030, www.stewleonards.com/ .
