Wondering what you'l find there?

Here are five things to know about this new destination for kids, families and visitors to Fairfield.

Make Yourself At Home: The Museum Commons includes three historic structures — the circa-1780 Sun Tavern, where you can act out legendary trials; the Victorian Cottage (1888) with its hands-on children’s museum; and the Victorian Barn (1888), which features exhibits on Fairfield’s agricultural roots.

The Possibilities Are Endless: The Museum Commons will be the site of live theater, festivals, concerts and more, both indoors and out. Visit fairfieldhistory.org to check out what’s up on any given weekend.

Step Right This Way: The Sun Tavern is open for guided tours each Saturday at 1 p.m.

Bring The Bug Spray: The museum & history center has a few spaces left in its summer camp programs at Museum Commons and at historic Ogden House on Bronson Road. Click here for more info.

Membership Has Its Benefits: While there are admission fees to Museum Commons buildings, members of the Fairfield Museum & History Center can stop for free. Learn more about membership here.

Museum Commons will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday through Sunday through Sept. 3.
