8-Year-Old's Lemonade Stand Helps Danbury Hospital Cancer Patients

DANBURY, Conn. – Jack Barney, an 8-year-old student in Harwinton Consolidated School’s third grade class, recently donated $14.88 that he raised through a summer lemonade stand to the Praxair Cancer Center at Danbury Hospital.

The funds will go toward purchase of snacks for patients who are being treated for cancer.

“Jack’s compassionate and charitable donation warmed the hearts and ‘hit the spot’ of our patients receiving treatment at the Praxair Cancer Center at Danbury Hospital,” Chief Development Officer Grace Linhard said.

Barney was inducted into the Western Connecticut Health Network Kids Care Club at the hospital. The group is a philanthropic organization for children and young adults, 18 and younger.
