DANBURY, Conn. — Big Nazo, an international performance group of visual artists, puppet performers, and masked musicians, invaded CityCenter Danbury for a special concert sponsored by Danbury's Promise for Children Partnership.
Big Nazo unites to create bizarre and hilarious larger-than-life sized characters, environments, and spectacles, much to the delight of people in the crowd of all ages at last week's show.
Kids and adults alike jumped up to dance and participate in the unusual show. It was fitting that the show was sponsored by the Promise for Children Partnership. Its goal is for all Danbury children ages birth through 8 to be healthy and ready for school and lifelong learning. It was a great show for family members to enjoy together.
Renegade circus family contortionists, a rowdy rodeo horse, a giant three-eyed robot percussionist, break-dancing police officers, Mountain Trolls, blob-like GO-GO Dancers, a charismatic lab rat and his giant man-eating chia pet were just a few of the characters, environments, and spectacles that create an irreverent musical Commedia full of irresolvable conflict, ridiculous dancing and an epic battle with the forces of chaos.
The show was part of the Thumbs Up Thursday shows on the CityCenter Danbury Green. This week's Thumbs Up Thursday show Aug. 20 will star the Danbury Drum Corps.
CityCenter concerts will also continue on Friday, Aug. 21, with the headliner"Get Your Wings." Blues Buddha is on board for Saturday, Aug. 22.
