DANBURY, Conn. -- U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton attended the Veterans Appreciation & Celebration event at the Danbury Farmers' Market last weekend.
Blumenthal and Boughton brought proclamations to honor the veterans and the work of the Danbury Farmers’ Market Community Collaborative.
Every veteran was given a gift of $15 in market certificates.
Karen Brown, vice president of Fairfield County’s Community Foundation -- which helps fund the Veterans Health Certificate program -- and representatives from Farm Credit East, who also provides support for the project, were also in attendance.
The Danbury Farmers Market is open Saturdays at Kennedy Park.
